Profile
In globalised societies, the issue of sustainability is of increasing importance in the construction and planning industries. That includes the protection of existing resources through the preservation and further development of building structures, and the development of energy and resource-efficient new buildings.
The Master’s Programme in Architecture addresses these requirements by placing a priority on energy-efficient, resource-saving planning and construction, within the context of a holistic architectural education programme. This provides preparation for the unrestricted handling of all architects’ work and at the same time opens the door to interdisciplinary fields of activity.
In a design-orientated project study programme, creativity with a high degree of social and intellectual maturity is key. In addition, practice-orientated research experience is gained, and communications skills and teamwork are developed in the process of a common dialogue.
Close co-ordination with the Interior Design Programme and a great variety of co-operative programmes with the Departments of Landscape Planning, Construction Engineering and Media Production provide opportunities for unique enhancement of individual study.
