Department 2 - Media Production
New information technology is forever changing the media and our means of communicating. To take an active part in this dynamic development it is essential to be able to design, communicate, interpret and publish with the tools made available by the new media. Therefore the course offered by the Department of Media Production at the University of Applied Sciences Ostwestfalen-Lippe covers not only design, but also the technological and economical skills required for working in the audiovisual and interactive media.
Media Production at the University of Applied Sciences, Ostwestfalen-Lippe is a hands-on course, which focuses mainly on the electronic media. The subject areas covered by the department include: Video, Audio, Computer Graphics, Animation and Interactive Applications.
The Bachelor programme is split into 6 semesters. The students are able to gain unique insights to becoming Media Producers as the course highlights the economical, technical and creative sides of the job. The aim of this 3-fold method is to offer an all-round approach to the knowledge and abilities required by this profession and the complex tasks it incorporates. A Media Producer is traditionally involved in a wide range of operations, therefore demanding knowledge of different but also overlapping skills. We aim to make our students responsible Media Producers, who are able to conquer even the most complex tasks given to them.
The Master Programme comprises of 4 semesters, and even though it builds upon the knowledge obtained in the Bachelor Programme, it is accessible also to students from similar hands-on orientated media courses. This international course, taught in English, will provide in-depth knowledge of the technological and creative skills necessary to succeed in video and visual professions. - New Media (interactive installations, internet applications, websites, software, games)
