The team of the department
The mechanical engineering and mechatronics department of the Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe employs one female and twelve male professors, eleven scientific female and male employees as well as additional staff financed by external resources. Some 500 motivated young people attend the lectures so that the department is fairly small and the personal contact between professors and students is a matter of course.

The professors join the university after several years of employment in the industry so that apart from their theoretical knowledge they can also rely on large amounts of practical experience. Many dissertations are mediated through the excellent contacts to the industry. Since the applied research and development activities constantly update the expert knowledge, professors and assistants can prepare students for their future profession in a qualified and state-of-the-art manner.
