Main emphases
The main emphasis of the department is clearly placed on design and development. This not only applies to the courses but also to the work in the laboratories.
- Experimental rig for diesel fuel injectors
Apart from the fundamental principles of design and calculation, i.e. mechanics, machine elements, materials and design methodology, the course also focuses on “power machines”, “material flow technology” and “precision engineering systems”.
Mechatronics is another “speciality”. This is where systems are devised in which mechanics, electronics and information technology are so intertwined, that they can no longer be considered as separate elements but need to be looked upon as an entity.
