Bachelor Degree Programme Landscape Architecture

The most important points:

 

  • Pre-study internship no longer required!

  • 8 Semesters: high quality, comparative with the former tried and tested „Diplom“ study programmes! Sufficient time to develop personal aptitude and skills.

  • Dynamic, practice oriented education: this is possible as a result of excellent supervision due to a very good student-lecturer ratio, qualifying project-based study programme, numerous student tutors to improve learning progress and examination results, on-site botanical garden.

  • Integrated work placement semester: always required by employers, offers very good insight into professional everyday life and is a possible contact for career entry.

  • Chamber eligibility in Nordrhein-Westfalen and the other federal states:
    As a result of the change in chamber law in 12/2008, an 8 semester study programme is required to gain entry to the chamber. This means that the additional master degree programme, for all 6 semester bachelor degree programmes, is no longer required. Membership in the Chamber of Architects is especially important for graduates who want to become self-employed: a requirement for participation in EU tenders and competitions, chamber membership = a quality feature, attractive pension benefits and much more.

The study programme does not have admission restrictions, which means that you can sign on with a school leaving diploma (Abitur) or vocational diploma. There are also no “special sign on requirements”, due to the fact that a pre-study internship is no longer required (this is however still highly recommended).
