| Short description | : | The ever-increasing demand for wireless applications has developed many new products for the market. An assessment of these products in terms of throughputs and coverage ranges can be very time consuming. In order to achieve quantitative and reproducible results, the approach so far was, that the performance of individual WLAN components at various locations within a building were determined. For test companies this means the loss of a lot of time and money by setting up, measuring and travelling to and from the test location. This initiated the idea that the test environment in the form of a channel emulation for use in the laboratory should be developed. The advantage would be reproducible conditions for all WLAN components. The effort necessary for testing would be reduced significantly. Within the framework of this thesis a suitable test site has been developed and investigated. |
