Short description :

When developing new PROFINET Hardware, there is the need for a comprehensive testing phase. In an early phase of development, tests which are done in conformance to the PN Specification will be made by using standard network interface cards. This leads to a lack of performance near lower cycle times of the PN communication. To antagonize this problem a better and faster solution is needed. In this thesis concepts for a system based upon existing network hardware will be made. To fulfill the requirements some powerful hardware components are available and will be included in the concepts.
Furthermore driver concepts for the appropriate hardware concepts will be presented and evaluated based on its performance. In the following section the implementation of a chosen concept is described. Finally, tests to verify a proper operation on the overall system were made and the results were recorded and rated.
This thesis was conducted in the Institute Industrial IT
(inIT) of the University of Applied Science Lippe and Höxter.
