Which expenses can incur?

Using the library is usually free of charge. Anyhow in some cases fees will incur according to the  Gebührenordnung der Zentralen Betriebseinheit ServicelKommunikation Information Medien – S(kim) – der Hochschule Ostwestfalen‐Lippe für den Bereich Hochschulbibliothek (GebO S(kim)–Bib) vom 3. Februar 2010

Library card fees

• Annual fee for the library card: 15,-€ (members of the University of Applied Sciences Ostwestfalen-Lippe and other universities of Northrine-Westfalia, as well as pupils can get the library card for free)
  
• A replacement library card: 10,- €

Overdue fees

If an item has not been returned on the day it is due, the following fines will be charged:

• 2,- € for up to 10 calender days 
• 5,- € for up to 20 calender days 
• 10,- € for up to 30 calender days 
• 20,- € starting with the 31st calendar day
• additionally starting with the 41st calendar day: 25,-  € administrative fee

For items with short loan conditions the following fines will be charged:

• if an item with short loan conditions has not been returned on the day it is due: 2,- € per medium per calendar day
• additionally starting with the 11st calendar day: 25,-  € administrative fee

Fee for interlibrary loan requests

For each item requested through interlibrary loan (book or journal article) a fee of 1,50 € will be charged. 

Other fees

Furthermore fees can be charged for

• Lost media: 25,- € administrative fee and replacement of the item
• Giving written bibliographic information including the literature search work: 13,- € for every 15 minutes spent
