In food technology systems should be analysed and optimised for an individualised production, with the help of information and communication technology which is used for Industry 4.0. OWL UAS will work on this project with its institutes ILT/NRW and inIT, with the resources of the “FH-Impulse” funding, provided by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

Quality Assurance in Food Production: Cyber-Physical Systems and Big Data

The quality control and assurance in food production achieves primarily the adherence to statutory requirements, as well as reaching technical and economic goals, such as the best possible use of raw materials. Consumer protection is also important. Sub-standard quality can lead to failures on the market place, higher production costs and customer complaints.
