The program is aimed at students of the Bachelor’s degree program Electrical Engineering.
The two fields of study “Automation Technology” and “Information Technology” include a number of recommended compulsory elective courses for teacher training. The study is divided into three sections: The first three semesters comprise subject-specific fundamentals. For the fourth semester students make a choice between one of the two fields of study “Automation Technology” and “Information Technology”.
Within these fields of study students have to choose compulsory elective courses that comprise a total of 25 ECTS. The program offers the opportunity to acquire these 25 ECTS by choosing compulsory elective courses that focus on educational didactics. These courses cover the three areas education science, vocational education and technology teaching and convey knowledge about the theory and practice of education, teaching development, general didactics alongside expertise from the area of vocational training. Two school internships, each with a duration of four weeks, accomplish the study program.
If the Bachelor’s certificate confirms that 25 ECTS have been acquired in compulsory elective courses focusing on didactics, an agreement with the University of Paderborn authorizes graduates of our Bachelor’s degree program to enroll in the Master’s degree program “Elektrotechnik "(Lehramt – BK Master)” of the University of Paderborn without admission restrictions.
